We are pleased to announce that Brandon Reich, Pivot3’s Senior Director of Surveillance Solutions, has been named a Top 12 Industry Influencer for 2016 by Security World. Individuals on this list are considered leaders in the industry and are active in pushing new ideas forward. This year’s influencers all provide a high level of insight to customers, partners and colleagues within the areas of IT, security, business and technology. Brandon has demonstrated all of these leadership qualities, and we are pleased to have him highlighted alongside the best in the industry.
Brandon has worked in the security, IT and technology markets for more than 16 years. He came to Pivot3 in 2014 from Honeywell Security Group. Before Honeywell, he spent 10 years leading a security consulting and engineering firm where he advised some of the world’s largest organizations in security strategy and technology deployment.
What does he consider one of the most rewarding aspects of his job? “I want to help educate end users on the latest trends in technology and give them the tools necessary to bring value to their organizations,” he says. “Security systems are mission-critical, and breaches can result in significant losses. I want to make our customers look like heroes inside their organizations.”
One of the biggest trends in the security industry today is the shift from a reactive, investigative function to a proactive, preventive tool. Advancements in technology have allowed IP-based surveillance and security platforms to create a treasure trove of data, which enables users to realize new levels of awareness and insight. “This creates an incredible opportunity to mine and leverage data for incident prediction and detection, behavioral analysis and even non-security applications, such as business intelligence and operational improvements,” he notes.
Brandon stresses the importance of thinking of security as an integral part of the business infrastructure and that speaking regarding business value instead of “speeds and feeds” will ensure long-term success. “The security industry must be willing to change the way it thinks and adapt to modern approaches to innovation, sales and marketing,” Brandon says. “Otherwise, it may lose its voice within customer organizations.”
Brandon attributes his success to aligning with individuals that are “smarter and more experienced” and learning as much as possible from experienced leaders. “I have been lucky enough to work with some of the brightest minds in the security industry, who started as clients and colleagues, and are now considered close friends.”
